First full Month together

We have officially been in South Carolina a full month! We are all adjusting well but still miss some of our friends in Conyers. I feel really like this is truly where we are supposed to be! It just seems right and I know that I have put my trust in God on all the extra that has to go on. I am not stressed about anything else like house or other bills cause it is all in God's hands! God knew this is where we needed to be and it will work out the way it is supposed to. It will just another challenge and adventure for Ben and me will learn to conquer together.

Ben has been working three weeks at the Lexington Firestone and seems to like it. It is different than the Conyers Firestone. The employees he seems to be doing well with and hasn't come home complaining as much which is awesome!

I have been doing good at work. I have had some good and some bad days. I do love my job most of the time just not always the customers! LOL!~

Madelyn has loved being with my mom, aunt Charlyn, and uncle Latson so much. She follows Asher around all the time and loves having another girl and playing with Eva. I have seen my child open up a lot more these days. She is learning new phrases too! She just started saying "Happy Birthday" and singing the birthday song.

Wow! Our life has taken a new turn and I let the lord have it for the outcome! I pray everyday we can continue to pay bills the best we are able to and get stuff solved soon. I have enjoyed having my family closer and friends closer! My days seem to be brighter and I seem to be busier. Thank you lord for giving us the opportunity and I look forward to see what else you have in store for us! Maybe another little one soon! I am hoping and praying! LOL! God Bless ya'll cause we have been even though there have been some complications!

Finally All Together Again

Wow, It has been a long month here with us! And a long time that I have posted a blog! We finally have all three of us together again but we still have unpacking to do. Ben made it up here saturday evening and unloaded as much as was possible into the house then today my baby brother,Taylor, helped with the rest.

So much has gone on since her last birthday and still to come for us since we just finished a majority of the moving back to West Columbia,South Carolina. I had a bunche of help with our Conyers family packing and West Columbia family unpacking us! Thanks to my wonderful Nana and Granddaddy McNeill, we have a place to live! It is a beautiful house that I remember so well and love!

Let me updated everyone on what has been going on lately:

* Maddie has moved into a big girl bed (debating if a good idea since she now gets up at 7am even on a saturday & sunday)

*Maddie is now having a wonderful time being watched by my family! My mom, Aunt Charlyn, & Latson have all pitched in to help! It is wonderful and Maddie loves them all!

*Maddie continues to grow though we need to get back into taking more pictures with a camera instead of our phones but hope to get some new ones up soon!

* I have been working in Lexington at Lexington terminal for Wilson Trucking! I have been there since Mid September. I love it and enjoy the guys! I am the only female during the day.

* Ben starts his job at the Lexington Firestone on Monday morning!

*We still have our house in Conyers but hope someone wants it soon! That means we are very tight around here and just making it week by week!

Nothing much else is new! We look forward to starting this adventure here as a family! God has shown us that we can do anything with his guidance! Please pray for us during this time as we deal with everything here and there! Until next time, Have a wonderful halloween!

Madelyn is 2 years old and more

I can't believe my little girl turned 2 years old already! Besides I have been a bad mom blogger but of course she won't let me blog anything while a wake! I am not but it is difficult! Anyways, she has grown so much! Learning new words each day and repeating many too! We have had a great time with her watching her grow and learn new things! Here are some new places and new things she has discovered:

1. We have discovered Tutu's thanks to Aunt Danielle that made her one for her birthday!

2. Has learned to copy many works and sings a lot!

3. Loves wearing bows

4. Is a huge fan of the following:

Mickey and minnie mouse

Elmo and Abby (Sesame Street)

Jesse,Buzz, & Woody from Toy Story

5. Says many...many...many new works daily

6. Found a playground (dobbs park) near the house that she has a blast on the slide

7. Is an awesome cleaner wi th toys and messes

8. Loves salsa and cheese dip at the mexican resturant (she got that from my side of the family)

9. Loves bubbles

10. loves to give kisses and hugs (has to give kisses to Jacey, our dog, before nap & bedtime)

11.Eats lots of fruit especially: bananas, strawberries, grapes & apples

12. Loves cows, horses, dogs, and many other animals!

13. Learned how to swing on the "big girl" swings at Grandmommy and Granddaddy Lewis' house

She grows so much each day! I am going to try to add pictures but it is difficult on this blog. Maybe if not on this one that more separate!

Other news:

Cynthia, our childcare provider, just found out she has ovarian cancer. She goes in on May 4th for her surgery to remove as much as possible. Please keep her in your prayers and she is a big part of our family! We love her very much and would like to continue to have her watch Madelyn if she will be capable of doing so. We will be looking for alternative daycare plans while she is recovering.

Madelyn has a new cousin, Evangeline Marie Lewis, who was born before thanksgiving! I will included pics later of her and Madelyn in their tutu's that danielle made! Andrew is already wrapped around her finger like Ben is with Madelyn!

Taylor has been attending USC:honors college since the new year and just found out he got an internship at Daddy's office with the engineers. Both of them (daddy and taylor) are super excited!

Latson had been working with Hardee's for a while with Voc Rehab but is now home again waiting for them to see if they can help him find another job. Plus he has applied at a couple of places I believe.

So far this year has been eventful and we have had struggles! Ben is still working for Firestone. I am still working nights with Wilson trucking but trying to find a day job which is difficult in this economy. With the tax money we have been updating the house and of course I had my reduction surgery which I am very happy with the results! Otherwise, we are doing as well as possible in these times and in the bad economy!

Madelyn got her ears pierced

So...after some long thinking. I decided to get Madelyn's ears pierced yesterday! All I could think of was how much I remember my experience getting my ears pierced with my cousin, Jessica. I kept thinking it wasn't a goo experience and I didn't want Maddie to remember getting them done. Plus if she decides she doesn't want them then they can grow back! I am super excited and she looks so cute! Love them!! Now to buy her some earrings! So much fun!

It's Been Awhile...

Ok, so Easter and Spring has come and gone. And Summer is upon us! Really though...we are both just bad at this whole blogging thing so here is our "quarterly" update!

In the last week in April I had carpal tunnel release surgery performed on both hands. Yes, I said both! I didn't think it was a really big deal until i arrived at the hospital and all the nurses and staff were astonished that i was having both done. Hey...i'm just doing what the doctor said we were going to do. I didn't know any better. So, in any case I have been off work and on medical disability since April, 21 2010. Today i was cleared to return to work on July 6th.

My recovery has gone fairly well. I'm just at the point where I still need to use my head on what I can handle with my hands over the next 3 or 4 months. Geesh...all this over a car accident. For those who don't know, the carpal tunnel was a result of a rear end accident I had in January of last year. The doctors determined that the force of the accident went into my writs as I was holding the steering wheel during the collision. It's been a long 3 months...but the original problems have ceased and time to get on with life.

On to other happenings -

My little Madelyn isn't staying so little! She's growing so much and learning new stuff everyday! She had tubes put in late May and the ear infections have ceased and she even seems to be picking up a lot more words since then.

Here's a little list of her words now:

  • Da Da
  • Ooops
  • Uh-oh
  • Dog
  • Jayce (one of our dogs)
  • Apple
  • Ma Ma
  • Up
  • Juice
  • Kix
  • Bath
  • Ball
  • Woof
  • Snake

Madelyn is running all over the place and ge
t's into anything she can. She's able to climb up and down stairs, and up and down the couches too.

She has also been too the pool on several occasions. It still takes a few minutes for her to get into it. Mostly she'll just sit in her float and chill out splashing around and rocking back and forth as she floats around.
