First Week back to work...

Well, I made it through my first week back to work and so did Madelyn! Yeah!

This week Madelyn spent three days at home with Ben, one day with Sandy Jo, and one day with my mom and brother, Latson. It was difficult the first day, but the other days were a lot better. It was great to have such a beautiful baby to come home to every night. I hope it continues that way.

She has begun many new things. She is smiling more though some look more like smirks. She definitely is cooing more especially at night when we put her down. On Tuesday, she went to bed around 10-10:30pm. Once I got downstairs into bed with monitor on all of the sudden she starts cooing like crazy. As I laid in bed and listened to her it was very difficult not to giggle. I am not sure who she was talking to but she was going at it and I enjoyed every minute of it until I realized that I needed to actual get some sleep instead of listening.

Also by morning time she has a new position in the bed. We have a positioner in the bed that keeps her on her back. When I get up in the morning and go in to get her up for her feeding I get a surprise. She has her head in between the wedges on the positioner with the rest of her body hanging off of it or she has her head hanging off and her body still on the positioner. It truly is the funniest thing to see in the morning!

I look forward to experiencing and sharing all the new happenings with Madelyn. The lord truly has given me a wonderful gift and I treasure her every day.

It's Bridgestone or Nothing

A couple weeks ago I had a opportunity through work to test drive some super sweet BMW's with various Bridgestone Tires on it. It's what they call a Drive and Learn course. Where they put you in performance vehicles and let you feel the handling response differently designed tires perform from each other.

Four BMW's with four different tires going form average Passenger tires to different levels of High Performance tires. I was blown away at how the tires performed so much differently from each other. Handling, Cornering and Control were so drastically changed from tire to tire.

It was definitely a learning experience and now i can really vouch for the better tires on any vehicle. If you are looking for a new car in the near future...don't forget to factor what tire are gonna end up costing you when the time comes. Because most of these new cars coming out now require the larger high performance tires that cost considerably more than you'd think. If you decide to cheap out on them that fancy ride you are getting won't drive anything like it did when new unless you keep the Good tires on there.

Even though I'm employed by Bridgestone I firmly believe they make the best tires out there!

Check out the video above! It doesn't come close the thrill of doing it live!

Madelyn's first day without Mommy and Daddy

Well...a baby's first. The first day without her mommy or daddy. We have been super blessed with our friend Sandy Jo from church watching over our little Madelyn while we are at work.

Her day began at 8:30 shortly before i had to leave to work. We made introductions and fixed up a bottle for her next feeding..then off to work I went.

No problem...seems like it would be a big thing..but it warn't. Sandy Jo is awesome and we thank God for her!!! They had a great day with minimal fits of agitation on Maddy's part. I checked Facebook while at work and saw that Sandy Jo had posted a note that she had fed Madelyn at 9am and hadn't heard a peep out of her since. Which seems to have been the routine from my past two days with her.

I failed to get a picture of the two of them from today so there is one of them from the original hospital visit. And here is one of her after Sandy Jo had left today. All happy an content wrapped up in her pink blanket...awwww.....

HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY, BEN!

So I guess it is my turn to write on our new blog. Not sure how I will do but here it goes!

Today is My wonderful husband's birthday! I still can't believe he is over 30 and I am coming up right behind him to hit the big 30 soon. It has been an amazing the years I have know him and how much I have fallen in love with him each year. He has given me a wonderful gift in our daughter and I feel blessed beyond belief. It works out so perfectly that he gets to spend his whole day with our daughter on his first birthday with her in tow. God has given me this wonderful man in my life to guide me in so many ways though I may be a little stubborn at times. Anyways...I am starting to get emotions just thinking about it...man these post pregnancy hormones are driving me crazy (i think they are worse than the during pregnancy hormones).

Please make sure wish him happy birthday today!

By the way....I hope I did okay on my first blog attempt...I am a little scatter brained so they all might not make much sense. I hope everyone especially my husband has a wonderful day today!

Here we are at Home...The Heskett Home

Well...here it is at last the Heskett Home Blog.  Hope to keep friends and family up to date as to what is going on around here.

Perhaps the biggest thing around here, as most of you may already know about is the newest addition to the household - but for those of you who don't...

Born: April 2, 2009

18" long

Needless to say life is not as quiet anymoe, but this little one is so precious..what can I say.  We make good babies!

Currently she is just a little over 6 weeks old.  Sleeping thru most of the night and just doing what most babies do...east sleep and poop.  Of course she is doing all her cooing and googling as well. Oh..and she holds her head up amazingly well!  For more details we'll have to see if Melissa will make a contribution.

Today is the first day I have had alone with her.  Melissa started back at work today after her 6 weeks Maternity leave.  I guess i have to admit...right now there isn't too much to it.  I thot i'd be pretty busy with trying to keep her occupied or that she'd be crying a whole lot.  But, outside of feeding and a few diper changes, she's been sleeping or just sitting in her swing all day.

So first day alone with my daughter I have been able to make some important phone calls to the bank and American express about a bunch of un-necessary bank fees and un athorized bank debits.  Still haven't got it completely settled, but getting there.  I started this blog.  I rearranged the lving room to provide some more open space for Madelyn.  AS well as some siomple chores.  Hey no big deal, I can handle this anyday!  Somehow I still wish I could do a little more with her...babies are a little boring at this point...but she is interacting a little bit more now than a couple weeks ago.  I just have to be patient.

So there it is...a family blog...more to come!
