Maddies 1st Halloween

Madelyn had her first halloween at the Cardoza's house! We had a wonderful time with our friends! Some of the adults dressed up and of course the kids did! You will have to check out the following accounts to see their pictures: http://zachandsarahmay.blogspot.com/ and http://thecardozafamilyblog.blogspot.com/ and http://moonpie-designs.blogspot.com/. I didn't really dress Maddie up a whole bunch but can't wait until I get her a real costume next year!

Veggies, Bath Time, & 6 months old!!

So Madelyn this week, had some big events. On Thursday morning, woke up with her left side of your face swollen and her left eye almost swollen shut. Doctor was not sure what it was, but we have some eye drops. It hasn't been as bad but has been a little bit swollen the last couple of morning. So hopefully it won't happen again.

While at the doctor I was given the okay to feed her baby food and start on veggies! We first tried squash but really didn't like that. We are now trying Carrots and seem to like these! Here are some pics and video of the carrots!

Madelyn is enjoying bathtime a whole lot more. She can sit up by herself pretty good and loves the water now! She has started splashing like crazy and playing with her ducky. I guess that makes it time to get some more bath toys! I enjoy it every time we bath her! She is growing so fast and I can't believe she turned 6 months old on Friday! It is going fast and I get excited about how much she has changed and learned! I look forward to getting to know her better and seeing her get her own personality! I am really enjoying being a mom! It was a wish that finally acme through and it is as great as I thought it was and better!! Thank you God for this wonderful blessing!

Time Keeps on Slipping....

Okay...so it's been a little while. Sorry, it's been a long while since I've posted anything. Hopefully the pics and videos here will make up for it! Time is flying by, and Madelyn is growing up more every day.

At her 5 month check up she weighs in at 15 lbs. 13oz.
26 1/2 " long, and head circumference of 41 cm

She is now just 5 months and one day old! Hard to believe...she's talking, playing, screeching, and not to mention starting to show some attitude.

And, of course she is perfect in every way! Oh, get this...she sleeps ALL night long. We'll lay her down between 8-9 o'clock every night, and she doesn't get up till 8 or 9 am! Most nights we'll lay her down and she'll talk her little head off till she falls asleep. I wish I could get a video of her doing that...but no night vision cameras here.

She is playing with her toys so much more. One of her favs is a play saucer. She'll get into it and start screeching with delight as she wobbles it back and forth while playing with the various toys on the top.

This week we started her on baby cereal. After a couple of nights of spitting it out and playing with it more than eating. She now eats her whole little serving of cereal! The first couple nights she would take a spoonful move it around her mouth and then start screeching. The last couple nights she will now take a spoonful eat it, suck her fingers then kinda whimper for more. I guess she likes it! The next videos are from her second or third night of eating her cereal.

Well, thats pretty much it for now. Life keeps going on. Maddy is in a daycare that we found in our neighborhood. She is there a few days out of the week. I watch her on my off days and so we get to chill together at least once a week, if not twice all on our own.

So, until next time, keep and eye on our Facebook pages for new pics on a regular basis. And maybe I'll post something on here is less than a months time on the enxt go around.

Peace,

B

4th of July

For the 4th of July holiday, we had a wonderful time at the Butchs' home! They have a beautiful home and they shared it with around 70 or so people. We had a blast hanging with friends, listening to the band play, and eating wonderful food! I have included some pictures! We even got a new family photo thanks to Heather taking it!

Talking and Playing

well...it's been a little while since I've made a post here...it's Hot outside...and work has been..well...work...

Every now and then I have the chance to catch little snippets of Madelyn talking away and playing. It's hard sometimes though by the time i run and get the camera on she will quit. But finally I have been able to catch one of her rare moments where she says a little bit and as an added bonus she's playing with her toys while in her bouncy seat.

In recent weeks she has been doing this a lot more. Just becoming more alert and actually playing with stuff. Watching TV, looking at you and talking to you. It's a shame there have been some really interesting moment when she first wakes form a nap or something and will just talk an talk and talk. I have captured several instances on my camera phone, but alas I haven't been able to work out the compatibility with my Palm software to play on anything but Palm software. So unless you have a Palm phone you won't see the really good videos of her talking away. But, hope this will suffice.

Our first weekend away with Madelyn

Madelyn had her first trip to South Carolina! She was a wonderful traveler since she slept the whole way there. I was so excited to get her up there for a visit. Madelyn finally got the chance to meet some family members. She got a chance to meet cousin Asher, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Danielle, & Great Aunt Charlyn. Her cousin, Asher, took some time to get over having some of his lime light taken away, but he eventually fell in love with her. He also had her laughing and smiling more than anyone else. It was so cute to watch them together and I can't wait until she gets a little bit older to do more with him. She was totally overwhelmed all weekend with all the new sights and sounds. My parents house is like a zoo compared to our quiet house. She was very overloaded!

On Saturday evening, I had my 10 year high school reunion. I can't believe it has been 10 years! It was so great to see some of my friends. It was great to see my friend, Kevin, which I had seen in a while. Also my friend, Lydia, is always hard to get into touch with and we had a wonderful time talking like it was old times. My friend, Will, is getting married next year and I was able to find out their wedding plans so far. It was fun! Especially watching some of the guys getting volunteered to do the YMCA, which I added the pic.

On Sunday, I had my friend, Kathy's baby shower for her little boy, Noah, that will be arriving in hopefully in 3 weeks. It was great! I was able to pamper her with a bunch of gifts. I also was able to show Madelyn off while switching up with my friend, Melissa, and her little girl, Izabella. Izabella is 8 months old and crawling like crazy. Ben was also able to show Madelyn off to our friends, The Francis'. The youngest, Megan, fell in love with Madelyn and had a blast feeding and holding her. Megan has offically decided that babysitting is great now that she was able to hold Madelyn. I hated that I missed it but Amy sent me some good pics!

All the excitement and visit really made me miss everyone in South Carolina. I look foward to going back in a couple of weeks for Madelyn to meet my extended family at my cousin, Chris' wedding. It was a very over stimulating weekend, but we all survived!

Madelyn's 2 months old today!

Wow! I can't believe I have had this wonderful miracle in my life for 2 months. It is amazing how much she has changed. She loves to smile first thing in the morning when either one of us get her up. She is starting to talk a whole lot more. We have a video but can't download it from Ben's phone, but I am going to try to get another video of her talking on my phone to download. I can't wait to post it for everyone to see! I look forward to seeing her grow even more each hour, day, month, & year. Thank you for being there to share these wonderful moments with us through her life. I love my baby girl!!

First Week back to work...

Well, I made it through my first week back to work and so did Madelyn! Yeah!

This week Madelyn spent three days at home with Ben, one day with Sandy Jo, and one day with my mom and brother, Latson. It was difficult the first day, but the other days were a lot better. It was great to have such a beautiful baby to come home to every night. I hope it continues that way.

She has begun many new things. She is smiling more though some look more like smirks. She definitely is cooing more especially at night when we put her down. On Tuesday, she went to bed around 10-10:30pm. Once I got downstairs into bed with monitor on all of the sudden she starts cooing like crazy. As I laid in bed and listened to her it was very difficult not to giggle. I am not sure who she was talking to but she was going at it and I enjoyed every minute of it until I realized that I needed to actual get some sleep instead of listening.

Also by morning time she has a new position in the bed. We have a positioner in the bed that keeps her on her back. When I get up in the morning and go in to get her up for her feeding I get a surprise. She has her head in between the wedges on the positioner with the rest of her body hanging off of it or she has her head hanging off and her body still on the positioner. It truly is the funniest thing to see in the morning!

I look forward to experiencing and sharing all the new happenings with Madelyn. The lord truly has given me a wonderful gift and I treasure her every day.

It's Bridgestone or Nothing

A couple weeks ago I had a opportunity through work to test drive some super sweet BMW's with various Bridgestone Tires on it. It's what they call a Drive and Learn course. Where they put you in performance vehicles and let you feel the handling response differently designed tires perform from each other.

Four BMW's with four different tires going form average Passenger tires to different levels of High Performance tires. I was blown away at how the tires performed so much differently from each other. Handling, Cornering and Control were so drastically changed from tire to tire.

It was definitely a learning experience and now i can really vouch for the better tires on any vehicle. If you are looking for a new car in the near future...don't forget to factor what tire are gonna end up costing you when the time comes. Because most of these new cars coming out now require the larger high performance tires that cost considerably more than you'd think. If you decide to cheap out on them that fancy ride you are getting won't drive anything like it did when new unless you keep the Good tires on there.

Even though I'm employed by Bridgestone I firmly believe they make the best tires out there!

Check out the video above! It doesn't come close the thrill of doing it live!

Madelyn's first day without Mommy and Daddy

Well...a baby's first. The first day without her mommy or daddy. We have been super blessed with our friend Sandy Jo from church watching over our little Madelyn while we are at work.

Her day began at 8:30 shortly before i had to leave to work. We made introductions and fixed up a bottle for her next feeding..then off to work I went.

No problem...seems like it would be a big thing..but it warn't. Sandy Jo is awesome and we thank God for her!!! They had a great day with minimal fits of agitation on Maddy's part. I checked Facebook while at work and saw that Sandy Jo had posted a note that she had fed Madelyn at 9am and hadn't heard a peep out of her since. Which seems to have been the routine from my past two days with her.

I failed to get a picture of the two of them from today so there is one of them from the original hospital visit. And here is one of her after Sandy Jo had left today. All happy an content wrapped up in her pink blanket...awwww.....

HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY, BEN!

So I guess it is my turn to write on our new blog. Not sure how I will do but here it goes!

Today is My wonderful husband's birthday! I still can't believe he is over 30 and I am coming up right behind him to hit the big 30 soon. It has been an amazing the years I have know him and how much I have fallen in love with him each year. He has given me a wonderful gift in our daughter and I feel blessed beyond belief. It works out so perfectly that he gets to spend his whole day with our daughter on his first birthday with her in tow. God has given me this wonderful man in my life to guide me in so many ways though I may be a little stubborn at times. Anyways...I am starting to get emotions just thinking about it...man these post pregnancy hormones are driving me crazy (i think they are worse than the during pregnancy hormones).

Please make sure wish him happy birthday today!

By the way....I hope I did okay on my first blog attempt...I am a little scatter brained so they all might not make much sense. I hope everyone especially my husband has a wonderful day today!

Here we are at Home...The Heskett Home

Well...here it is at last the Heskett Home Blog.  Hope to keep friends and family up to date as to what is going on around here.

Perhaps the biggest thing around here, as most of you may already know about is the newest addition to the household - but for those of you who don't...

Madelyn Wei Wei Heskett
Born: April 2, 2009
8:01 pm
7 lbs 9oz
18" long

Needless to say life is not as quiet anymoe, but this little one is so precious..what can I say.  We make good babies!

Currently she is just a little over 6 weeks old.  Sleeping thru most of the night and just doing what most babies do...east sleep and poop.  Of course she is doing all her cooing and googling as well. Oh..and she holds her head up amazingly well!  For more details we'll have to see if Melissa will make a contribution.

Today is the first day I have had alone with her.  Melissa started back at work today after her 6 weeks Maternity leave.  I guess i have to admit...right now there isn't too much to it.  I thot i'd be pretty busy with trying to keep her occupied or that she'd be crying a whole lot.  But, outside of feeding and a few diper changes, she's been sleeping or just sitting in her swing all day.

So first day alone with my daughter I have been able to make some important phone calls to the bank and American express about a bunch of un-necessary bank fees and un athorized bank debits.  Still haven't got it completely settled, but getting there.  I started this blog.  I rearranged the lving room to provide some more open space for Madelyn.  AS well as some siomple chores.  Hey no big deal, I can handle this anyday!  Somehow I still wish I could do a little more with her...babies are a little boring at this point...but she is interacting a little bit more now than a couple weeks ago.  I just have to be patient.

So there it is...a family blog...more to come!
